JCDA is for girls, ages 6 – 18 years old. Instituted in 1926 by Catholic Daughters of the Americas® JCDA has been around for many years. In fact, JCDA Court Madonna #114 was instituted in 1948. However, only a small percentage of our New York State Courts sponsor a Junior Court.

There are four objectives to JCDA.
JCDA has a threefold program of involvement.
MESSAGE – Not just accepting God’s Word but acting on it.
SERVICE – Using God given talents to improve the world.
COMMUNITY – The heart of JCDA – Encourage building community in all areas of their lives.

The St. Anne Award
The St. Anne Award is the highest national recognition for adults who serve Catholic youth through national organizations. The recognition was inaugurated in 1957 by the USCCB Department of Education.
The purpose of the award is to honor the outstanding service of adults contributing to the spiritual development of Catholic members of organizations for girls, and to further Catholic adult leadership in youth ministry.
New York State CDA is reinstating the practice awarding this medal to members who work with JCDA. We are now accepting nominations. Nomination forms will be sent to the Regents of courts that have Juniors and is also located on the Resources Forms page of this website.
